Art 4:
Value Chart:
I made two value charts one with a regular pencil and another with a colored prismacolor pencil to show the transition between lighter value shades to the darker values.
Pencil Form Shapes:
I drew a sphere, cone and a cylinder on three different colored paper tan/brown, grey, and black to see how the colors look on each paper and which one looks the best. Doing this helped me learn to shade and blend the colors together better.
Fruit/Veggie Drawing:
I had to draw a fruit or veggie for this mini assignment. I chose to draw a group of berries to challenge myself and to practice drawing multiple berries. I showed the range of values and pulled colors such as red, yellow ocre, blue and purple into other berries to show the reflection and to make it more realistic.

In Progress:
In this project I had to draw a representation of a reflection. I decided to draw a volcanic crater in Iceland and had a sunset in the sky and reflected it into the water. This was a picture taken from one of the trips I took with my dad. It was such an amazing experience and drawing this piece let me reflect back on it.
Alternative Book Project:
Ideas:
1. Pages filled with different places or cultures and represent significant cultural elements and meaningful items to them. I can write down words in the language they speak wrapped around the drawings.
2. Pages filled with different seasons
3. Pages from the bible and representing pictures of the scenes and also putting some hymns in the background.

Final Pages:
In this project we had to create a layered piece of art onto book pages and include phrases, quotes or song lyrics incorporating the drawing. This project was really challenging for me because I didn't have a structured plan and had to be more creative and think outside the box. I also had to reach outside my comfort zone. Normally draw or paint right off the image and make it look realistic but with this project it was almost like it was abstract art. Also doing the cutout was a challenge. The cutout had to flow with the other pages and go along with the theme. I think doing this project I was able to gain more of a creative mindset. As ideas came into my mind with no structure, each idea got better and I was really proud of the outcome of my final piece.

Final:
In this project we had to paint a self-portrait in a unique way. I decided to include nature with myself. I had flowers growing out of my face and attracting butterflies. Doing this project has helped me develop more confidence in painting portraits and opening up my creative mindset.
